Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Workshop: Small business participation in federally-funded projects & DBE Certification Kootenai County is hosting a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise workshop to foster small business DBE participation in federally-funded projects: Elizabeth Healas, ITD DBE Program Coordinator, will present on how small businesses can engage in federally funded contracting opportunities through the DBE certification process. The Department of Transportation's DBE program is a tool to level the playing field by providing small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals a fair opportunity to compete for federal funded contracts. This workshop will be particularly helpful to women, minorities, veterans, & other small disadvantaged businesses.
