Thank you from the Hubbard family

It has been five weeks since the avalanche at the Silver Mountain Ski Resort on Jan. 7, 2020. Our Molly Hubbard, together with Carl Humphreys and Scott Parsons, was killed.

It was Molly’s first day on the hill, and apparently she had caught up with some of the best locals. Molly was a skier and adventurer. And she also took some time to become a skilled neurosurgeon, being recently appointed as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the OHSU in Portland, Ore. Molly made friends everywhere she went, always finding adventures on her “Molidays.” She loved and lived life to the fullest.

We express deep gratitude for the support from the Silver Mountain Resort. Sherrie Goodner and Jeff Colburn were quick to respond to our call early Wednesday. Everyone took such good care of us.

Sheriff’s Captain Jeremy Groves was constantly in touch. And how can we thank all the volunteers who probed and dug for three days, together with ski patrol and Shoshone County Search and Rescue.

We thank Jim Bob Pierce and his crew from Two Bear Air (Mike Gougen) for finding Molly under 25 feet of snow.

We thank Rick Smith and Tyler Wingerson, who helped bring Molly off the mountain — they took such care of Molly and us at a most difficult time.

We thank the Scholey’s for taking care of Winder, Molly’s dog.

We are sure there are more people that helped — thank you, too.
