Beloved husband, father and Papa, Bruce A. Lesterberg passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Bruce was born on Sept. 25, 1953, in Culbertson, Mont., to Art and Arlene Lesterberg.

When Bruce was 9, the family moved to Pinehurst, Idaho. Growing up in Idaho, Bruce truly enjoyed everything that Idaho had to offer. He graduated from Kellogg High School in 1972. He was on the football team and played both offense and defense. He loved the sport and helped his team achieve their 8-2 record his senior year.

After graduation, he moved to Post Falls, Idaho, and went to work for Louisiana Pacific and was employed there until their closure. Shortly after, he was hired by the city of Post Falls Street Department and remained there until he retired in 2015.

Bruce married Joyce Hickey on April 25, 1981. They built a life together in Post Falls raising their two daughters, Karie and Katie. Bruce lived life to the fullest. His most important treasure was his family. One of his favorite places to be with his family was their cabin on Rose Lake where they enjoyed making memories and friends for more than 30 years. You could always find Bruce on the dock with a fishing pole.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Joyce; his two daughters, Karie (Willie) Wicks and Katie (Travis) Demczyk; and grandchildren Erika, Kyle, Maria, Tyler and Audrey. He is also survived by one sister, Wanda (Glen) Schilter; two brothers, Ron (Evelynn) Lesterberg and Wayne (Marshella) Lesterberg; his sisters-in-law, Gretchen Dire and Nanette Columbo; brothers-in-law Bob Hickey and Don Dire; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020, in the afternoon at Templin’s Red Lion Resort, 414 E. First Ave., Post Falls.
