KPD Roll Call: March 18-25

•If you’re out and about (you know getting essentials) and see a new face at KPD, his name is Dave Bishop or as we are going to call him “the other Dave”. Please give him a warm welcome but do it at least 6’ away.

•Assist county with a runaway (in Kellogg).

•Parking ticket N Division.

•Abandoned vehicle had plates put back on vehicle.

•Citizen contact on the 100 block of Presley Ave. Resident wanted an individual trespassed, but I was unable to locate said individual.

•Called to the 100 block of E Cameron Ave for call of Public Indecency. Individual was gone on arrival as well as the reporting party. Clear.

•Handled an animal complaint at the 500 block of State St. The animal was returned to its owner. Cleared, public assist.

•Handled a parking complaint at the 10 block of W. Mission Ave. Cleared, public assist.

•K72 contacted a pedestrian attempting to hitchhike at the I-90 milepost 51 eastbound on ramp that had just been released from the Benewah Co. jail. The subject was probation searched and provided courtesy transport to Osburn at their request.

•Handled a landline request regarding a protection order violation. Charges to be filed with Prosecutor. Cleared, report taken.

•Dispatched to a public assist at Short St. & W. Cameron Ave. for a person stuck in a wheel chair. The subject was having some mechanical issues with their electric wheel chair, but we were able to help him chug along for about a block to his residence. Cleared, public assist.

•Traffic stop in the 500 block of Bunker Ave, verbal.

•Assisted 1216 with a traffic stop at Hill and Riverside. Cleared, assist

•Attempted to locate another vehicle that was related to 1216 stop, vehicle was located and individuals were contacted (K77 goes into more detail on his brief).

•Welfare check in the 100 block of E Market Ave. Contact was made, subject was code 4.

•House party in the 300 block of W Riverside, one male was taken into custody for resist obstruct delay.

•Called to an unlawful entry in progress in the 300 block west Cedar St. After making contact everything was code 4 and was taken home. Clear, public assist.

•Dispatched to Short St. & W. Cameron Ave. for a public assist. Individual needed help with their electric wheel chair.

•Responded to the 700 block of Howard St. for a disturbance. Upon arrival K77 discovered it to be unfounded.

•Assisted K76 with a welfare check. Individual was discovered to be OK prior to our arrival.

•Assisted K76 with a traffic stop on the 600 block of Bunker Ave.

•Assisted County with a traffic stop on the 100 block of W. Riverside Ave.

•While K76 and K77 were conducting foot patrol on the 300 block of W. Cameron Ave. attempting to locate this hangout spot, we observed a disturbance on the 300 block of W. Riverside Ave. Turn out to be a big ol’ shin dig with some fighting involved. K76 and K77 were stopping one fight, detaining people, then jumping over to another fight happening right next to us, detaining more people in cuffs. This continued on and on until three County units showed up and we had the man/woman power to take control. With the help from County, K76 and K77 were able to gain control of the situation. After all said and done, an arrest was made. The meet and greet was ultimately broken up and peace was restored.

•Dispatched to the 300 block of Cedar St. for an unlawful entry. Another case of “what, this is not my house” call. Upon arrival, K76 ended up detaining a male. Due to the individual’s inebriated state, we provided transport for the individual to his residence after medical checked him out.

•Traffic stop Hill/I90 (on ramp west bound, verbal warning for failing to stop at stop sign (Bunker/Hill).

•Attempt to locate, gray SUV with Washington license plates. Subject shoplifted from Walmart and was headed eastbound on Commerce Drive. County found them later on the west end of the county (they did not come into Kellogg).

•Traffic stop W. Cameron Ave. Cleared verbal for equipment.

•Called to 500 block Mission for disturb the peace. Cleared verbal.

•Requested to assist Shoshone County as a cover unit with detaining a runaway juvenile in the Pine Creek area for officer safety.

•Traffic Stop at I-90 milepost 49 (violation occurred in the city). Cleared, verbal warning for incomplete stop.

•Traffic Stop at I-90 milepost 49 (violation occurred in the city). Shoshone County K9 assist was requested. After investigating, determined the driver was a trafficker delivering a cash load to acquire drugs. A large quantity of drug money was seized and the individual was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Cleared, misdemeanor cite & release.

•Report work & evidence work.

•Traffic Stop at the 10 block of E. Cameron Ave. Cleared, citation issued for no insurance.

•Traffic Stop at I-90 milepost 49 (violation occurred in the city) Cleared, citation issued for turn signal violation and no insurance.

•Dispatched to a report of an assault at the 100 block of Legion Ave. Victim refused charges for battery, but requested an officer speak with the other party. Cleared. NAT.

•Dispatched to a report of disturbing the peace at the 900 block of W. Cameron Ave. Was unable to locate the reported subjects upon arrival. Cleared, unable to locate.

•Located a wanted subject with a felony arrest warrant at the intersection of Station Ave. & Division St. One male was detained and K74 took the subject into custody. Cleared, NAT.

•Traffic complaint E. Portland. Report of juveniles riding in a side-by-side without helmets. Nothing in the area with exception of one UTV being operated by a single adult. Stopped and spoke with UTV parked and the owners of such. They confirmed it was ridden earlier in the day (morning) with juveniles aboard. Explained helmet laws for future reference.

•Disturbance in the 900 block of W. Cameron, report of motorcycles in the area being loud, unable to locate. Was able to stop someone from unloading the area explaining it is p;rivate property.

•K72 located subject with Felony warrant Division and Station. I took custody and transported. Felony arrest.

•Disturbance 100 block of W. Portland, subject yelling from balcony. Contacted subject and advised to stop doing this (several hours after the fact and no further incidents between time of report and contact).

•Welfare check for man in at sleeping bag near the basketball courts. Subject was code 4 and advised parks are closed after dark. Cleared NAT.

•No further calls to service, seemed like everyone decided they didn’t want to be out after 9 p.m.

•Landline from Prosecutor’s Office requesting paperwork, sent up via fax.

•Landline from citizen to advise about drug information. Information taken and investigation started.

•Landline Prosecutor’s Office regarding open case. Instructed investigating officer to contact as I had no information.

•Delivered subpoena to Dave Smith Motors as part of my investigation into identity theft.

•Evidence work.

•Computer work.

•Landline regarding possible found property on Main St. Items set next to garbage and no record of it being reported stolen.

•Traffic stop 900 block Bunker, citation for insurance.

•Traffic stop 200 block Main, verbal for stop sign.

•Traffic complaint 500 block W. Mission Ave. Cleared UTL .

•Transport person from SMC to Bunker Ave.

•Attempt to locate possible Kidnapping, female inside a vehicle against her will being transported to North Dakota. By the time pinging was available, they were passing 51 eastbound. County and ISP handled.

•Called to a possible verbal domestic at the parking lot of the old junior high school. “The other Dave” got to see that bad guys, or anyone else for that matter, really don’t want to be tazed and how it can change one’s attitude with just pulling it from the holster.

•Agency assist, vehicle following another vehicle going up Pinecreek area (County on-scene with ISP during the dispatched kidnapping incident). Silver truck following subject, no further information was available or given. Checked the area and cleared with no further information given.

•Deputy report wrong way driver I90 eastbound in the westbound lane from 48, located vehicle at MP 49 where County unit was able to catch up and stop at the Elizabeth Park overpass.

•Welfare check 100 block of Presley. Subject no longer lives there...or does; it was difficult understanding once contacted. Subject was contacted and advised to contact family (did not want to). Call was placed to the RP. RP was advised subject was located and fine and did not want to contact them for some unknown reason.

•March 25th, Quarantine day one. Patrolled the empty streets looking for zombie hoards.

•Showed “the other Dave” the city limits at various locations around town.
