Clifford M. Hinsz, 84

Clifford “Cliff” M Hinsz, 84, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away Dec. 22, 2021, peacefully at home. He was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Golden Valley, N.D. Cliff was the son of Emanuel Hinsz and Louise Messmer.

Cliff attended High School in North Dakota. Cliff went on to proudly serve in the United States Marines. At the age of 21 Cliff moved to Wallace, Idaho, and called it home ever since. Cliff was a hard worker spending much of his working years in the mines. When he wasn’t busy working in the mines he was home taking care of his animals and his homestead that he purchased in 1965 up Burke Canyon.

On June 4, 1970, Cliff was united in marriage to Kathy Jo Zanetti. Together they raised two daughters which were his pride and joy. This past June, Cliff and Kathy celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.

In his free time Cliff enjoyed farming, gardening, reading, listening to music and watching boxing and westerns. At the end of the day Cliff enjoyed spending time with his family the most. Cliff also was a Former Eagles member.

Cliff is survived by his wife Kathy Jo Hinsz; two daughters Sheila Hinsz and Julie Hinsz; siblings John Lang and sister in law Cheryl, Phyllis O’Neil, Sandy Lang, Verna Mae and Helen; sister-in-law Nancy Homuth, sister-in-law Janet and Mike Howard and brother-in-law Herb and Kathy Zanetti and numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents Father Emanuel Hinsz, Mother Louise Lang, step-father Emil Lang, Father in Law Herb Zanetti and Mother in Law Ruth Zanetti, Brother Eldor Hinsz and sister in law Rosie, Loren Lang and sister in law Louis, Loretta and brother in law Roy Newberger, Brother in law Tom O’Niel, Late Husband of Phyllis. Mick Gallanger, and Ron Homuth late husbands of Nancy.

Per Cliff’s wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family suggest that donation may be made in Cliff’s name to the Meals on Wheels of Osburn, Idaho.
