ROSE LAKE – Three individuals were transported to Kootenai Health Friday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate-90.

Idaho State Police reports that on Jan. 8 at approximately 8:49 a.m., a juvenile female was traveling eastbound near milepost 36.7 when she lost control of her 2005 Ford Taurus and ran off the roadway into the center median.

Theodore R. Austin, 54, of Nine Mile Falls, Wash. was traveling behind the Ford in a 2009 Honda Ridgeline pickup and stopped on the right shoulder to offer assistance.

While Austin and his passenger, Jennifer J. Austin, 50, of Post Falls, were parked on the east shoulder, a 2003 Subaru Legacy driven by another juvenile female lost control and struck their pickup.

Emergency crews with ISP and Shoshone County Fire District No. 2 responded to the scene to render aid not long after the incident occurred.

Austin, the juvenile Subaru driver, and her juvenile female passenger were all transported to Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene with non-life threatening injuries. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor.

ISP is continuing to investigate the incident.
