Robert Kenneth Johnson, 74

Robert “Bob” Johnson, 74, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away June 4, 2021, at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born April 5, 1947, in Wallace, Idaho. Bob was the son of Kenneth and Maxine (Wallander) Johnson.

Bob was a lifelong resident of the Silver Valley. He attended and graduated from Kellogg High School, class of 1965.

On Feb. 1, 1968, Bob was united in marriage to Lynda Gillette in Kellogg. Together, they raised two children.

Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years for Shoshone County until his retirement. In his free time, Bob loved staying busy. He was always working on cars, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and camping.

Bob was one of the founding members of the Pinehurst First Baptist Mission. He led Bible study for many years and led the music on Sundays.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lynda Johnson; two children, Karen (Matthew) Currie and Joe (Lisa) Johnson; and four grandchildren, Ryan Currie, Heather Currie, Rachael Johnson and Elijah Johnson. Bob is also survived by his sister, Sue Clapp; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Vicki Mitchell and Bonnie Johnson.

Cremation will take place and a memorial service was held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Lions Club building in Pinehurst.
