Leontina 'Tina' Christina Knoll, 90

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Leontina "Tina" Christina Knoll, 90, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away April 30, 2021, at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia nursing home in Kellogg, Idaho. She was born July 4, 1930, on a small farm near Ryder, N.D. Tina was the last of 11 children born to John and Christina (Mettler) Schrempf.

On June 12, 1949, Tina was united in marriage to Johnnie Knoll in Beulah, N.D. They later moved from Gackle, N.D., to Grand Junction, Colo., to Kellogg as Johnnie got a job with the Bunker Hill Company; and finally moved to Kingston.

Tina was a "Jill" of all trades. Over the years, she helped to support her family by delivering newspapers on a motor route five days a week; cleaned for various local Silver Valley businesses; and finally retiring from the Kellogg School District as a cook for the Sunnyside School.

Tina was a lifelong (50+) year member of the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. She served on the Church Council, Altar Guild and also started and ran the church Gift Shop. She was an active member of the Ladies Circle group and the Tuesday Quilting group.

Quilting, sewing and cooking were her among her favorite things to do. She was an avid reader and bird watcher. She liked her flowers. An avid fan of the Seattle Mariners and the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Tina is survived by her six children: Darrel (Bonnie) Knoll, Kingston; Roanna "Annie" (Gary) Bailey, Silverton, Idaho; Steven (Janis) Knoll, Kellogg; Byron Knoll, Seattle, Wash.; Loren Knoll, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and Kevin Knoll, Coeur d'Alene. She is survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Tina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnnie and her 10 siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. Inurnment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
