Valuing the experience of Silver Valley youth

| October 28, 2021 5:42 PM

We want our youth to leave and experience the world and return to raise families and establish careers in the Silver Valley. Wallace is an attractive place to live, in part, because of its traditions and values.

Heather Branstetter and Owen Cotter are two Silver Valley youth who came home to establish their careers and families. They are highly qualified, well-respected community members who are well-suited to infuse our local government with fresh perspectives. They chose to return because they know this place is special and are motivated to protect and preserve Wallace.

Our system of government is designed to be a representation of the people. New individuals bring new ideas and new motivation. Incumbents should be challenged, providing them with an opportunity for reflection, insight and potentially change.

I am voting for fresh ideas. I am voting for new energy. I am championing the infusion of technology to make our government more transparent and accessible for all citizens. I am supporting the inclusion of a new generation of leadership for this community.

I am grateful for these two former Silver Valley youth who have the bravery to run for public office.
