Greg Wesley Riley, 61

| June 17, 2025 1:00 AM

Greg Wesley Riley, 61, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away June 4, 2025, at his home in Silverton. Greg was born Oct. 23, 1963, in Bishop, Calif., a son of Kenneth and Dora (Seward) Riley. Greg’s family soon moved to Wallace, Idaho, where he was raised.

Greg graduated from Wallace High School, Class of 1983 and resided in Silverton for over 22 years. Greg had lived in Nevada for a short time but returned to the Silver Valley to work at Lucky Friday, where he spent over 22 years. He was a proud member of the Mine Search and Rescue Team.

Greg met Levone Hodges while in high school and they quickly became high school sweethearts. Their paths took them separate ways for a while, but they eventually found their way back to one another. Greg and Levone made their home together in Silverton for 11 years. He will be greatly missed.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Dora Riley, and two brothers, Dean Riley and Randy Riley.

He is survived by the love of his life, Levone Hodges of Silverton, Idaho, and two brothers, Donald Riley and Rodney Riley. Since Greg did not have any children of his own, he loved his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as if they were his own children.

No services are planned and cremation has taken place.

Memories of Greg and messages of condolence may be shared with his family online at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, is assisting the Riley family with arrangements.
