Becki Sue Benjamin, 70

Becki Sue Benjamin, 70, of Osburn, Idaho, was released from her struggle on the evening of April 24, 2025. 

She was born July 21, 1954, to John and Golda Brayman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she was born and raised. Becki attended and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School, but it was in middle school that she met the love of her life, Edgar Benjamin Jr. They were married in 1972 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. 

They raised two wonderful, yet challenging, daughters, Ashleigh Benjamin and Melissa O’Connell, who will carry her razor-sharp wit and a soft spot for the underdog. Her family was lucky enough to find her one son-in-law, Jimmy O’Connell. Becki was a rock-and-roll grandma to her two grandsons, Mason O’Connell and Aiden Benjamin-Stack, and her one and only granddaughter, Megan O’Connell. Becki was in the process of training her new son-in-law, Scott Dunn, and admiring the hair of his daughter, Macy Dunn. 

She liked dark bars and strong drinks, being outside (when it was warm) and ATV rides. She passed along a love of breakfast for dinner but not the ability to make gravy, for alas, she could not. She did not like the holidays, but was always in for a raucous gathering. Anyone who didn’t have somewhere else to be was always welcome. 

Becki is preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Edgar Sr. and Betty Benjamin, whom she adored. 

She is survived by her devoted husband, her two daughters and their families, her sister, Debbie (Jim) Dury, her sisters-in-law, Betty Mae (Gary) Kempton, Judy (Doug) Greenfield and Wendy (Dean) Wise, her brother-in-law, Jeff (Gayle) Benjamin, and numerous nieces and nephews who will always remember her as the cool aunt. She will be missed. 

A raucous gathering of Becki’s friends and family will be held at a warmer date in the future.
