Wendi Marie Preston, 52

| May 2, 2025 1:00 AM

Wendi Marie Preston, 52, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away April 21, 2025, in Silverton, Idaho, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Wendi was born Jan. 3, 1973, in Battle Creek, Mich., the daughter of Barry and Alvina (Todaro) Preston. She graduated from Climax-Scotts High School in 1991. Wendi was primarily a homemaker, but most recently, until her death, she worked at a local animal shelter. Wendi enjoyed spending her time with animals, especially dogs. She was an avid reader and had a rich imagination. She frequently wrote short stories and worked on novels, though she died before she could publish her works. She traveled much of the United States but found her home among the mountains and lakes of the Inland Northwest. She had goals and hopes for the future — her time was cut short. She took on many roles in her life, but her favorite ones were as a daughter to her beloved father and angel of a stepmother, and then as a mother herself.

She had faith in Heavenly Father and in the Savior, Jesus Christ. May she be received well and find the peace she spent her life in pursuit of.

She is survived by her two daughters, five grandchildren, her eldest brother, her former spouse of 20 years, and her extended family in Michigan, whom she loved. No local services are planned.
