Barbara Hall Romine, 90
Barbara, the oldest of three children, was born to Evan and Verla (Hazeltine) Hall on Dec. 5, 1934, in Moscow, Idaho. She passed away March 15, 2025, at the age of 90. She attended grades one through four in a one-room schoolhouse in Avon, Idaho. The Family moved to Fort Sill, Okla., as her father was stationed there during World War II in the army. She attended fourth, fifth and sixth grades while there. The Family then moved back to the Avon farm, where she attended the seventh and eighth grades in the same one-room school. She attended Deary High School for two years, Moscow High School for one year, and graduated from Genesee High School at the age of 16 in 1951. She attended the St. Maries Nursing School in Walla Walla, Wash., for two years. She worked at various jobs in Kellogg, retiring from Silver Valley Labs as the Lead Technician after 19 years.
She married Wayne L. Jacobs in Genesee, Idaho, on Aug. 17, 1953. They had three children: Douglas Wayne, Margery (Peggy) Ann and Dale Lee. Wayne and Barbara divorced in 1982.
She Married Deland Junior Romine on Jan. 1, 1983, in Coeur d' Alane, Idaho. He passed away July 4, 2016.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Del, both her parents, son-in-law, Max George Birdsell, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her three children: Douglas (Marcia) Jacobs of Moscow, Idaho, Margery (Peggy) Birdsell of Cocolalla, Idaho, and Dale (Kelly) Jacobs of Kellogg, Idaho. Seven grandchildren: Wayne, Frank, Max, Evan, Morgan, Taylor and Britney. 14 great-grandchildren; Colt, Christopher, Trenton, Joshua, Jessica, Cameron, Hadley, Brenley, Aubrey, Aliyah, Taylor, Cole, Jake and Waylon; and siblings Louis (Charlotte) Hall of Sun City, Ariz., Janice (Ralph) Ward of Sun City, Ariz.
She will be interned at the Viola Cemetery at a later date.
English Funeral Chapels of Coeur d' Alane and Shorts Funeral Services of Moscow have been responsible for arrangements. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. May 10, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, 8134 N. Meyer Road, Post Falls, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Peace Lutheran church in her name.
