Cara Nadine Cecelia Jaeger, 80

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Cara Nadine “Grandma Dean” Cecelia Jaeger, 80, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away March 30, 2017 at the family home of Osburn. She was born April 13, 1936 in Lead, South Dakota; Cara Nadine was the daughter of James and Lilly (Bucholz) Ahartz.

Cara Nadine moved to the Silver Valley as a young girl with her family. She attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1954.

Cara Nadine married James Jaeger on December 29, 1956 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Wallace.

Cara Nadine had first worked at the Wallace Brokerage of Wallace as a receptionist for five years, starting in High School. After her marriage to Jim, they moved to Moscow, Idaho, where Cara Nadine worked for the University of Idaho Placement Bureau. After returning to the Silver Valley, she had worked for the First National Bank of Wallace and then went to work at the Auditor’s office at the Shoshone County Courthouse. Then lastly, Cara Nadine worked at the Sunshine Mining Company as the payroll supervisor; she then retired.

Cara Nadine was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Wallace. She loved and enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, gardening, and camping on the family river property on the North Fork of the Coeur d’ Alene River. Cara Nadine’s biggest love and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cara Nadine is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, Jim Jaeger of the family home of Osburn, Idaho; two children Shellie and Cory Weikel of Osburn; Jim Jaeger, Jr. and Martha Whalen of Osburn; three grandchildren Mike Weikel, Andrea Fisher and Brettanie Jaeger; five great-grandchildren with one great-granddaughter on the way Kash, Loliesa, Lexie, Braxton and Maverick; one sister Judy Maakestad of Renton, Washington; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Cara Nadine was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Harlene Ripley.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Wallace with Father Jerome Montez serving as celebrant. A reception/luncheon will be held at the Church Fellowship Hall following services. Interment will be held at the Osburn Day Cemetery of Osburn.
