Dennis Keith Hamilton, 66

Dennis Keith Hamilton, 66, of Kellogg, ID, passed away April 3, 2017 at his home in Kellogg. He was born on September 25, 1950 in Missoula, MT; Dennis was the son of Phillip and Elizabeth (Atwood) Hamilton.

Dennis grew up in Montana and California. He graduated from Empire High School in Grass Valley, CA. He spent summers in Helmville, Montana where he worked in the hayfields and thouroughly enjoyed it, it is also where Dennis learned his hard work ethic. He was united in marriage to Kay Widener Melson on October 27, 1986 in Coeur d’Alene; they moved to the Silver Valley in from Yakima, WA in 1993. Dennis worked at a logger in Northern California, Montana, and the Bitterroot and Blackfoot Valleys. He retired in 1996.

Dennis enjoyed riding ATVs, camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed working around his home and property

Dennis is survived by his wife Kay of over 30 years of the family home up Moon Gulch; son Richard Hamilton of Grass Valley, CA; granddaughter Elizabeth Hamilton of Bozeman, MT; brother Dale Hamilton of Smelterville, ID; mother-in-law Eunice Widener of Myrtle Creek, OR; step son Anthony Melson of Lyons, OR; step granddaughter Angelica Melson of Southerland, OR; brother-in-law Larry (Linda) Widener of Myrtle Creek, OR; sisters-in law Brenda (Bob) Kelly of Eugene, OR and Nancy (Dave) Edwards of Newport, OR; and step brother Woodrow (Elizabeth) Needles of Ovando, MT. Dennis is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father Woodrow Needles Sr., his brother Dean Hamilton , sister Phyllis Pease, and half brother Rodney Needles.

Cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time.
