Body found in CDA River

The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reports that on Tuesday, April 11, SCSO deputies and Kellogg Police Department officers responded to a report of a fisherman who had located a deceased female in the Coeur d’Alene River bed between Kellogg and Smelterville.

Crews from Shoshone County Fire District One were also on hand at the scene.

Sheriff Mike Gunderson says that an investigation is presently underway to determine the identity and cause of death, and an autopsy will be conducted later this week.
