04/05/2017

•00:27 EMS crews responded to the area of Idaho street in Osburn for difficulty breathing. Patient was treated and transported to SMC by ambulance.

•09:11 EMS crews responded to High street in Wallace for unresponsive male. Once crews got on scene CPR was started. Shortly after, DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) paperwork was provided to medical and all resuscitation efforts were stopped. Medical assisted Shoshone Funeral services then cleared, returning to quarters.

04/06/2017

•07:32 Fire & EMS responded to First Street in Pinehurst for a diabetic emergency. The patient had recovered by the time crews arrived, assessed the patient’s condition. Patient refused transport.

•12:34 EMS crews responded to the 3rd St. area of Osburn for a possible diabetic problem. Crews found a young female experiencing dizziness. Crews assessed patient and family was contacted. Patient was alert and feeling better and family took patient to family doctor.

•14:03 Fire and EMS responded to the Silver Mountain water park for an elderly male who was in and out of consciousness. Patient was treated and transported to SMC.

•18:32 Fire and EMS responded to First Street in Smelterville for a medical transfer to SMC. Patient assessed and then transported for further care.

04/07/2017

•00:31 Fire & EMS dispatched to W. Cameron for a patient in cardiac arrest. Patient was found to be responsive, assessed and transported the patient to Shoshone Medical Center.

•07:39 EMS paged to Kellogg for a Pt with a possible stroke. Upon arrival Pt is unresponsive . Transported Pt to SMC for evaluation and treatment.

•12:18 EMS crews dispatched to Yellowstone Street in Osburn for a possible deceased person. Upon arrival Pt is confirmed to be deceased and coroner is contacted. EMS returned to quarters.

•17:37 Fire & EMS responded to a male patient who fell on Bunker Ave in Kellogg. The Patient was assessed, treated and transported to SMC.

•19:42 Fire & EMS responded to McKinley Ave in Kellogg for a patient with a diabetic problem. Assess and monitored the patient’s condition. The patient refused to be transported.

04/08/2017

•15:16 EMS crews responded to Placer Creek for ATV rollover. After some discussion with patient and law enforcement, patient refused transport, and we started leaving. Patient then changed his mind and got into the ambulance. At the hospital, patient said we took him against his will. Feels like we’re the worst kidnappers, ever.

•16:05 Fire and EMS responded to Bunker Ave in Kellogg for a 63 year old male having a possible heart attack. Pt was taken to SMC for treatment.

•16:18 Fire and EMS crews responded to Elizabeth Park’s Bike Trail for an injured patient. Patient was assessed. No injuries or medical conditions were present, the patient was transferred to the care of a Shoshone County Sheriff’s Deputy.

•22:22 Report of a garage fire on Northview in Smelterville. Fire was coming from a attic window and was visible in the main garage when crews arrived. Extinguished and cleared.

•23:01 EMS crews responded to SMC for patient transfer to Kootenai Health, back in service once we got back to the valley.

•00:00 Fire and EMS responded to a medical emergency on Silver Valley Road in Kingston. The patient was assessed, treated and transported to SMC for further care.

•05:40 Report of a medical emergency on Maple St. in Pinehurst. One person was taken to SMC by ambulance.

•03:42 Fire and EMS crews responded to the Brooks Hotel in Wallace for possible fire. Luckily, it turned out to be smoke clearing from someone’s oven. The Brooks survives another day.

•12:51 Fire apparatus responded to the Sunnyside School for an active fire alarm. Upon investigation found a repairman was doing some soldering and the solder smoke active a smoke detector. No problems with the building.

•10:48 EMS crews responded to the Woodland Park area of Wallace for a sick patient. The patient had not been feeling well for the past few days vomiting and unable to ingest food or water. Crews were able to establish an IV and give fluids to patient en route to SMC.

•16:27 Fire and EMS responded to Arizona Street in Pinehurst for a person having chest pain. The patient was assessed, treated and transport to SMC.

04/11/2017

•10:42 EMS crews responded to Good Samaritan assisted living in Silverton for patient who cut his foot while trying to trim his nails. Nurses then told patient a podiatrist comes to the facility and could have done it for him. Now you tell me! Bandaged foot, transported to SMC in good spirits.

•16:28 Fire crews responded to the South Fork of the Coeur d’ Alene River between Smelterville and Kellogg to aid law enforcement in the removal of a body from the river.

•19:48 Fire and EMS responded to the rails to trails east of Kellogg for a reported bicycle crash. A male patient was assessed and treated for potential injuries prior to being transported to SMC for further care.

•21:01 EMS crews responded to Osburn for a patient who fell and hurt her wrist. Patient did not want transport to the hospital, but did allow us to wrap her wrist, then asked us to remove the bandage, then wanted us to wrap it another way. Patient said she “might” go to the doctor tomorrow. Helped patient into her PJs and get ready for bed.

•22:46 Fire and EMS responded to a residence on Lewiston Avenue in Pinehurst for reported female having a stroke. The patient was assessed and treated at the scene before she was transported to SMC by Ambulance.

•22:51 EMS crews responded to Woodland Park for patient who fell and got wedged between the bed and the wall. Helped patient up, took vitals. Patient did not want transport. Patient said we are the best. Woot!

•06:11 EMS crews responded to Woodland Park for a patient with difficulty breathing. Treated and transported to SMC.

•09:39 Gentleman walked into Osburn station to see if we might help his wife out in Sunnyslopes, as she is having some back pain. I’ll say! Patient is experiencing a solid

•10:10 in the pain scale. Treated and transported to SMC.

•11:25 Had lunch at Silver Hills Elementary with Mrs. Sheppard’s 3rd grade class! Congrats, Mrs. Sheppard’s class, for winning Pride Week this month!
