Wallace Flower Project set for summer 2017

| April 19, 2017 1:59 AM

The Wallace Flower Project is gearing up for another season of making Wallace more beautiful than it already is.

The group will be putting out close to 160 flower baskets in town and 45 flower hayracks along Placer Creek and the South Fork Bridge coming into the West end of Wallace.

Thanks to Gravis Technologies, Inc. in Wallace, the group has now added a website this year.

With this addition, interested folks can stay up to date on volunteer opportunities and make it possible for folks to donate to the project.

The goal this year, like all the years past, is to dress up the city of Wallace for the summer and make it an inviting place for locals and tourists alike.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Wallace Flower Baskets can donate online.

Donations to the project are tax deductible and the Wallace Flower Project committee will use donations to make improvements to the flower project work area at Weeping Birch Park.

Improvements include updating the watering systems on some of the baskets and eventually grow the number of baskets that are put out each year.

In addition to donations, the group is currently looking for volunteers to plant on May 19 and 20 from 8 a.m. to noon both days.

To donate or volunteer, contact Art Fleming at art.rest@rcaconnect.org or 208-755-0334.
