George Frederick Pickering, 77

George Frederick Pickering, 77, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away on April 18, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 23, 1939; George was the son of George and Hettie (Fehl) Pickering.

George grew up in California and worked as a Milkman in his early years. Later he was the owner and operator of bicycle shop. He was united in marriage to Jean Shepherd in 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada. George and Jean moved to the Silver Valley in 2006 from Oregon.

George enjoyed playing and watching all sports, especially football, he was very athletic. In his later years he enjoyed making pottery and artwork.

George is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Jean of the family home in Pinehurst; his four children, Fred (Laurine) Pickering of Pinehurst, Jill (Ray) Everts of Springfield, Oregon, Terri (Ross) Standifer of Dallas, Texas, and Kurt (Adriana) Pickering of Menifee, California; his grandchildren Samantha, Jacqueline, Zachary, Dani, Jessica, Joshua, Heidi, Wendi, Hunter and R.J.; and 5 great grandchildren. George is also survived numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Virginia Bourne and his son Kyle.

Cremation will take place and private family services will be held at a later date.
