James “Jim” Harvey Halley, Jr., 62

James “Jim” Harvey Halley, Jr, 62, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away at his home of Smelterville. He was born August 16, 1954 in Santa Rita, New Mexico; Jim was the son of James H. and Doris A. (Boust) Halley, Sr.

Jim moved to the Silver Valley in 1971 from Mountain View, California. He attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1972. Jim then attended Boilermaker Trade school in San Francisco, California.

Jim first served as a boilermaker for the MGM Grand in Reno, Nevada for nine years; he then worked for the Greyhound Racing Dog Track of Post Falls, Idaho in maintenance for nine years; Jim also had worked in the maintenance department for Kootenai County and had lastly worked for the Swift Trucking Company.

Jim loved and enjoyed fishing, camping, snow skiing and riding his mountain bike.

Jim is survived by his mother Doris Halley of Kellogg, Idaho; one brother Larry Halley of Kellogg; one sister Judith Halley of Sunnyvale, California; two nephews Dylan Halley of Kellogg, Jameson Halley of Wallace; three great-nieces Annabelle McCoy- Halley, Chelsie McCoy and Leah Frazier. Jim was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation will take place and private family services will be held at a later date.
