KPD Roll Call 7/25-8/1

•VIN inspection x3.

•Lots of foot patrol

•Speed emphasis Main Street in Wardner and East McKinley Avenue.

•Mobile patrols in Kellogg and Wardner.

•Abandoned vehicle in the employee parking lot of Kellogg Head Start- 100 block of W. Mission. Vehicle was tagged 48-hour removal as the parking lot is NOT marked. No in-house information could be found for registered owner. Checked on the vehicle later and it was gone. Notified dispatch to remove the vehicle for scheduled tow.

•Civil paper service x2- both served.

•Traffic stop Division and McKinley- verbal warning for exhaust and front license plate.

•Traffic complaint 300 block of W. Mission- reported as two vehicles racing around the area. One vehicle described as two tone truck with lightbar and other vehicle small passenger car. Unable to locate.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Landline request for an abandoned vehicle, truck was already tagged.

•Someone has been in the old silver valley fitness building again recently, new food items and such inside.

•Extra patrol of construction zone.

•Mullan and Price stop sign has fallen down, looks like it had been broken a long time ago and simply put back into the hole. The base was pretty old and simply couldn’t do it anymore and gave up.

•Traffic stop on McKinely Avenue. Cleared verbal.

•Called to W Brown for out of control juvenile. Arrested juvenile female for battery and beyond parental control.

•Follow ups for K71 and K73.

•Civil standby 400 block of Main Street, Wardner.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Driving complaint (road rage) no longer in progress. Upon contact with the reporting party, just wanted law enforcement to be aware of the person driving the roads and their demeanor (did not want to sign citation or purse criminal charges). Was able to locate suspected enraged driver and chatted with them. When all was said and done, everyone will be going their own way without further issues and possible handshakes down the road (rather than the gestures that were given on this day). Victim refused/Public Assist.

•Missing person from Silver Mountain (74 year old male). Nothing further. Canceled prior to arrival for initial report as the subject was located. Canceled.

•Dog at large/vicious 900 block of W. Cameron- K72 handled, dog was not at large, more of a neighbor concern for them having dog (needs to be taken up with management company, non law-enforcement related).

•Traffic W. Cameron & Utah. Verbal warning for trailer lights. Truck towing a trailer, lights came unplugged while turning and shortly after one light broke. They were able to plug back in and have light to the rear. Verbal.

•Assist county with possible physical domestic in Osburn- non/physical domestically, parties separated.

•Assist county with unwanted subject/unlawful entry 800 block of Maple in Wallace. Initial call was to Kellogg (believed we did not have an 800 block and it was confirmed). We were asked to assist, as it started escalating while on the phone with dispatch. Agency assist.

•T-stop E Portland and Division for stop sign violation. Cleared verbal.

•Assisted county with possible physical domestic. Cleared other agency assist.

•Assisted county with unwanted subject in a residence. Cleared other agency assist. Provided courtesy transport to the female who was the unwanted subject.

•Call to W Cameron about dog at large. Turned out being more of a neighbor dispute since she was worried about the tenants next door. Cleared peace restored

•T-stop at Cameron Conoco for stop sign violation. Cleared verbal.

•Patrol of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Finished juvenile arrest report and ran it up to Court House.

•Public assist at Gondolier. Driver was capable of navigating his 29’ camper approximately 1/2” from hitting the Gondolier. Nickerson’s towing arrived on scene and was able to maneuver the camper away from the building.

•Patrol of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Did some follow up work for BOB.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Intoxicated male harassing people at Fairbridge Inn. Contacted subject and he was very intoxicated. Trying to get on the bus to go to Missoula. He just missed the bus and could not comprehend that another bus would be coming in the morning. After trying to explain this to him several times, placed him on a detox hold as he could not come up with any alternative (place to stay or go) other than the bus. Detox hold placed, report completed.

•Harassment 900 block of W. Cameron. Requested county assist as I was dealing with the previous call. After parties were found to be separated and peace was restored, pended further action for oncoming shift. K72 finished handling when he came on shift.

•Business alarm at Gondolier. Open door located, building searched without finding anything nefarious. Key holder contacted and building secured.

•Assist county with unwanted subject (intoxicated) at Dayrock in Wallace. Subject was reported to have threatened to kill someone and/or shoot up building persons. County handled with assist. Assist other agency.

•Call to Cameron Conoco about a intoxicated male. Upon arrival the male had left in a blue sedan with Montana plates. Cleared UTL.

•Call to The Gondolier for an alarm going off. Cleared building secured.

•T-stop on the on ramp @ 49 for stop sign violation. Cleared verbal.

•Patrol of Kellogg and Wardner.

•T-stop on 800 block of S division for speeding. Cleared verbal.

•Landline request at beginning of shift.

•Patrol Kellogg and Wardner.

•Directed a few lost travelers through the construction.

•Talked to an adult male about camping within 100 feet of the rails to trails. He was displeased with KPD, but he said he would move his camp.

•Spent most of the shift in court.

•Court in the morning.

•The ladies at the front desk were concerned about a couple that pulled up to the parking lot and got camping chairs out and sat in front of the door. K77 made contact with them. It turns out the were French Canadians and they got a kick out our city’s name. They purchased a box of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes and wanted a picture in front of our city hall sign. K77 gladly took a photo of them eating corn flakes in front of Kellogg city hall with a box of corn flakes in the background.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Assist county/Pinehurst with fire investigation at Walmart. Subject on-scene and intoxicated (transient). He was taken in on detox without incident.

•While assisting at Walmart, subject with active warrant was seen. I took the arrest as county had in custody already and west end unit was tied up on a crash in the Pinecreek area. Subject was taken into custody without incident and taken to jail on his warrant. Arrest report completed.

•Open door on Wildcat Way- Westpak building. Responsible was contacted and met on-scene. Advised subject to contact SCSO to give information as a key holder for future use. Building checked and secured.

•Neighbor dispute 100 block of Presley. Neighbor complains of a light shining (nothing criminal about the carport light). Contacted neighbor and requested they turn out the light and they complied without incident. Peace restored.

•Various locations for foot patrols along with extra patrols in the construction areas. Not sure how extra they are considering 80% of the city is currently under construction

•Landline taken for landlord tenant issue. Will be calling in tomorrow morning to request a civil stand-by, did not state what time, but did not want to do it this evening.

•Call to 100 block of Presley to speak with subject about a very bright light shining into her house...... Cleared public assist.

•Call to building with open door. Cleared building secured.

•Foot patrol at Silver Mountain and Kellogg park.

•Had a walk in for a civil standby at 130 North street. Everything remained civil cleared public assist.

•Called to a welfare check 400 block of Bunker Avenue. I cleared, negative contact.

•Called to an unwanted camper on Galena ridge. Upon arrival I met with a couple who had parked their camper at the end of Galena ridge road. They stated that they owned property adjacent to where they were parked at and was checking on it over the weekend. They were in the process of leaving when I arrived. I cleared public assist.

•Spent some time walking around silver hoops.

•T-stop on Hill st by the Hill Street, Conoco for speeding. Cleared verbal.

•T-stop on S Division for equipment violation (plates in front windshield) cleared verbal.

•T-stop on S Division for stop sign violation. Cleared verbal.

•Received dog from county. Owner later came and picked up the dog.

•Another couple brought a dog to the PD which we put in the shelter.

•Shot hoops with some of the juveniles at hoop fest. Building some rapport with the community = ).

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•County assist on traffic stop at Cameron Conoco.

•Foot Patrol Silver Mountain.

•Traffic stop on Hill Street for tail light, clear verbal.

•Extra patrols in the construction areas.

•Motorist assist at 51 flat tire changed!

•Civil standby for a custodial dispute. Cleared public assist.

•Released K-9 from pound to owner.

•County assist on I90 MP52 for disabled vehicle. All of their units were tied up and asked if I could check welfare. Nobody was on scene. Cleared assist other agency.

•I responded to 500 blk of Cameron Avenue for a small fire in the wood chips. I showed up to supervise SCFD#2.

•Called to a fight in progress. Call came in as 20-30 juveniles fighting. Upon arrival, nobody was fighting but large gathering of juveniles. Two admitted to having a shoving match over a girl. No injuries and it never escalated. By the time I arrived they had already shook hands. They went separate ways and I cleared peace restored.

•Lots of sun at silver hoops. A great weekend of 3 on 3 Basketball. K73s legs and head are nice shade of red though.

•Assisted K73 on unwanted person at the Amy Lynn Apartments, Gentleman that was causing the issues left after a brief chat with K73.

•Assisted K73 on a call of kids hanging out by the bathrooms on railroad, RP stated that he thought It was gang related, turned out it was just some kids hanging out in the park.

•Called to the basketball courts for kids lighting off fireworks, no fireworks were used, they were just playing basketball. It was the same kids that were in the park near the bathrooms 15 minutes ago.

•County assist on door and motion alarm- cleared other agency assist, was a false alarm.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Motorist assist at 49 on ramp, They were just changing drivers for the next leg of their road trip.

•Report of a naked man down by the river. K73 was happy to report the man was not naked. He did have to tell the individual that can’t set up camp along the freeway off ramp even if it is a nice spot.

•Landline request for civil standby cleared public assist.

•Civil standby 100 Block of North Street. Cleared negative contact.

•Called to Amy Lynn’s to give verbal warning for loitering.

•Traffic stop on S. Division cleared verbal.

•Citizen contact at Shoshone Medical Center. Cleared NAT.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Welfare check 100 block of W. Mullan- canceled prior to arrival as family member made entry and contacted subject.

•VIN Inspection at KPD.

•Gave found property to SCSO for return as subject lives in Wallace area.

•Arresst on active warrant out of an adult male Kootenai County. Report complete and warrant served.

•Neighbor/property dispute-questions 700 block of 4th. Advised to have property surveyed as it is currently unknown where the lines are. Issue is neighbor driving onto property in order to turn around. Advised to call if anything further takes place other than simply turning around until survey can be completed. Offered to speak with neighbors to see if some sort of agreement can be met, they declined for this to take place. Public assist.

•Release dogs from pound.

•Motorist assist 3000 block of McKinley- originally reported by passer-by as a vehicle crash. Not a crash, wheel fell off vehicle while driving. Damage to vehicle was previous per owner/driver and no report needed. Vehicle’s were off the road and not a hazard while repairs were made.

•Suspicious activity, gray/black truck headed up Sierra Nevada possibly to dump garbage- K76 handled and cleared with Public Assist.

•Called up Sierra Nevada for a suspicious black and grey truck going up to possible dump garbage. It was a young male that just wanting to go driving in the woods.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Landline request wanting me to hang around while she withdrew money from the ATM at night. Cleared public assist.

•Flagged down by citizen for a man on a roof top shirtless yelling at cars, was unable to locate.

•People Kept messing with the construction cones last night on the freeway moving them out into the traveling lanes, nobody was ever seen moving them however it happened multiple times throughout the night.

•Called to Silver Mountain to assist fire for a 12-year old stuck in the elevator. Fire arrived on scene and opened the door with their key.

•After leaving Silver Mountain, was flagged down by people getting off the bus and Fairbridge front desk staff. A male and female were scaring the customers and yelling at the people as they came off the bus. After the woman finished yelling, she locked herself into the bathroom. They eventually left peacefully. They just didn’t go very far.

•Called to assist county on people standing in the middle of the freeway. It happened to be the same couple that had been causing a stir at the Fairbridge. County transported to Kingston. Cleared other agency assist.
