Man killed on forest service road near Clarkia

COEUR D’ALENE- A man was killed Friday night after crashing a tractor trailer near Clarkia.

Idaho State police reports that on August 4 around 8:51 p.m., 64- year old Christopher L Wilman, of Juliaetta, Idaho was driving a 1995 Freightliner truck on Forest Service Road 301 near milepost 2.2 when he failed to negotiate a left turn.

The truck slide down the right shoulder of the road and went down an embankment.

Wilman was trapped inside the vehicle as a result and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Benewah County coroner.

Next of kin has been notified and he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Other assisting agencies included Upriver Ambulance and Upriver Fire Dept.

The investigation is continuing.
