Pinehurst Days was hot, hot, hot
The 2017 edition of Pinehurst Days was another stellar event as the business district of the city was full of classic car enthusiasts from across the Silver Valley, as well as the Pacific Northwest.
Hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles were on display for onlookers to salivate over and different vendors peddled fun trinkets for the visitors to enjoy.
Following the car show, the parade showed off the locals and their civic pride.
Sunday morning had a competitive flavor as the annual BMX races were held at the BMX track.
“This is a great event for the community,” Pinehurst Elementary principal and (during Pinehurst Days) reserve police office Mike Groves. “It’s great to see people get out and for the local business to be full and our hotels and motels in the area to get all booked up.”
Event organizer Bruce Rumpel thought the event was smaller than it had been in the past, but not for any other reason than the heat.
“It was pretty busy all weekend,” Rumpel said. “Some of our events were down from last year, but it was so dang hot. I think people knew that and it kept them from coming out. But everything else went well.”
Results from the car show, parade, and BMX races will be published in the SNP later this week.
