SCSO busts marijuana grow operation in Wallace

WALLACE— The Shoshone County Drug Task Force (SCDTF) seized nearly 200 marijuana plant on Monday after executing a search warrant on a Wallace home.

A Shoshone County Sheriff’s deputy initially responded to the residence after a complaint was made by the resident of 69 Caron Court.

Upon the deputy’s arrival, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence and immediately requested that a search warrant be issued.

After obtaining the warrant, drug task force members searched the home and discovered a large indoor marijuana grow operation.

Approximately 181 marijuana plants were seized with a street value of $452,500.00.

In addition to the grow operation, several pounds of harvested marijuana was seized along with drug paraphernalia and several firearms.

Because of this discovery, 42- year old Umberto M. Caron was arrested and charged with manufacturing of marijuana, trafficking marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Several more charges are expected to be added pending further investigation.
