KELLOGG— The Kellogg Storm Football Program is signing up players for the upcoming season, but there is currently no team this year for the eighth grade players to be apart of.

Due to a lack of players and coaches, the eighth graders will either not be able to play or will have to travel to Coeur d’Alene if they want to play football this fall.

Local resident Larry Yergler is still trying to get an eighth grade team together and can be reached at (208) 660-9292 if an eighth grade player or parent is interested getting involved.

The Silver Valley Storm football team will be handing out gear on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 8 a.m. at the Kellogg Middle School Track.

Signups are currently still being taken for all teams grades 5 through 7 and is open to boys and girls from Mullan to Rose Lake.

Practices for fifth and sixth graders will start on Monday, August 21, at 5 p.m. at the Kellogg Middle School, as well as parent meetings to discuss the season and games at that time.

Parents are reminded that players need a current (within the last 2-years) sports physical before they can practice.

For more information on the sixth graders please call Cory North at (208) 512-1673 and for information on the fifth- and seventh-graders call Erik Panke at (208) 512-2128, or go like the Kellogg Storm Facebook page for day to day news and coverage of the teams.
