Buck Fire trail, road and area closures reduced
AVERY — The Idaho Panhandle National Forests rescinded the larger closure area for the Buck Fire and issued a smaller temporary closure order for the Buck Fire area.
Portions of Forest Service Roads #201 and Trail # 100 (from its intersection with Trail #627) and all of #627 are still closed, as well as an Area Closure in the vicinity of Snow Peak (see map) in Shoshone County on the St. Joe Ranger District due to fire activity associated to the Buck Fire. The closure is expected to continue until the fire situation allows safe access.
Surveyors Lookout and Northbound Creek Trail #111 remain open at this time.
Access to Surveyors Lookout and Sawtooth Saddle remain open via Beaver Creek (FSR #303) and the remaining open portion of FSR #201 south of the Beaver Creek junction.
