Crews continues to move forward with Phase II and III of the City of Kellogg’s Sewer Rehabilitation and Replacement Project.

Phase III is occurring on the West end of McKinley Avenue and is moving east.

Extra time is required on this section of road to remove the concrete roadway that is in place beneath the asphalt overlay.

The road in this area remains closed during the week but is open on the weekends.

As the project moves farther to the east, alternate routes around the construction area will be established as allowed.

Right-of-way and easement work continues between Mission Avenue and Riverside Avenue.

As soon as water sample results are received, crews will begin connecting homes in the area to the new waterline.

Results are expected next Monday or Tuesday.

The Sewer service crew is ready to begin work on Chestnut Street north of Cameron Avenue.

They will be connecting homes to the main sewer line in the City right of way.

The mainline crew now working on the easement work on Mission and Riverside Avenues will soon return to Hill Street and then complete the work in the alley behind Sunnyside Drug.

A second mainline crew will begin working north on Chestnut Street as well as returning to their project north of Mission Avenue.

The road crew is grading Brown Street in preparation for paving which is scheduled to begin next week.

The Kellogg pool is now closed for the season.

As such, more children can be expected to be moving around the local neighborhoods.

Please watch for children and pedestrians and drive slowly through work zones.

I want to thank everyone for their patience as our long hot summer continues.

Again, thanks to all of the people working in difficult conditions to complete our project.

Please bear with us as we move towards fall and hopefully some cooler weather.

Anyone needing special assistance related to the project or who may have questions or concerns may contact Mr. Craig Lewis, Superintendent of Public Works at (208) 783-9131.

On weekends, holidays or after work hours you may contact Mr. Lewis by calling the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Dispatch at (208) 556 1114 and ask that they contact him for you.
