Dorothy Mae Rollins, 91

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Dorothy Mae Rollins, 91, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away August 25, 2017 at the Kindred Nursing & Rehabilitation- Mountain Valley of Kellogg. She was born July 6, 1926 in Casper, Wyoming; Dorothy was the daughter of Lee and Gladys (Brannan) Haynes.

Dorothy attended schools in Oklahoma. She married Ernest G. Rollins in the early 1940’s in Oklahoma. They moved to the Silver Valley in 1952 from Oklahoma. Dorothy and Ernest later divorced. She then married Ray Martin, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy along with her first husband Ernest Rollins, owned and operated the Tastee Freez Drive In of Kellogg, which later they named the Humdinger, for ten years. Dorothy later purchased the Barrel Restaurant of Osburn, which she owned and operated for several years. And before her retirement, Dorothy managed the Senior Meals on Wheels program.

Dorothy loved and enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking, traveling and a little gambling. She was a wonderful seamstress and had upholstered furniture beautifully.

Dorothy is survived by her children Marion “Gene” and Vickie Rollins of Cataldo, Idaho, Nancy and Jim Church of Pinehurst, Idaho and Ron Rollins also of Pinehurst; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husbands Ernest Rollins and Ray Martin, two sons Darrell Rollins in 1967 and Larry J. Rollins in 2004, two sisters and one brother.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg with Pastor Art Fleming officiating.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
