Larry Dean Frisbie, Sr, 82

Larry Dean Frisbie, Sr, 82, of Coeur d‘Alene, Idaho, passed away August 23, 2017 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene. He was born October 30, 1934 in Wardner, Idaho; Larry was the son of Amos and Eleanor (Sandow) Frisbie.

Larry was born and raised in the Silver Valley. He attended and graduated from the Kingston High School in 1952. He then went on to serve in the United States Army.

On September 25, 1963, Larry was united in marriage to Beverly Van Zandt in Coeur d’Alene.

Larry was an Associate Professor at Eastern Washington University, where he taught first aid and self rescue. He was a mine training specialist and eventually retired as a GS13, from Mine Safety and Health. Larry also worked at the Sunshine Mine for 20 years and had served as Mayor of the City of Pinehurst from 1971 to 1974.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Beverly; four children George Frisbie of Boise, Idaho, Larry Frisbie, Jr. and his fiance Rhonda Wilson of Rathdrum, Idaho, Sheri and Edward Poindexter of Post Falls, Idaho and Wayne and Debra Frisbie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; four sisters Louise Carle of Kingston, Idaho, Dorothy and Fred Erickson of Pinehurst, Idaho, Joanie and Keith Davis of Utah and Rosena and Earl, Sr. Criger of Arkansas. Larry is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leon and Robert and daughter-in-law Lupe.
