WALLACE — Officials report that the male driver of a semi-trailer truck involved in roll over crash on I90 has been pronounced deceased.

Personnel from the Idaho State Police (ISP), the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, and Shoshone County Fire District No. 1 responded to the incident Tuesday night at mile post 63.5 between Wallace and Mullan.

The driver, identified as 59 year-old Iouri Karlov, of Brooklyn, NY, was heading westbound at approximately 8:44 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle due to going too fast for the road conditions.

The semi rolled onto its passenger side, left the roadway, and traveled through approximately 20 feet of guardrail.

First responders administered CPR to the driver upon arrival, but his injuries sustained from the wreck proved fatal.

No other vehicles were involved and the truck was carrying food.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 5 hours and Karlov was wearing his seatbelt.

Next of kin has been notified.
