| December 13, 2017 4:33 PM

On December 8, 2017, Peggy passed away peacefully in her sleep after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her son Tim was by her side at The Cottages in Nampa, Idaho.

Peggy was born on September 27, 1938 to Amel and Elise Whitwer in Concorde, MA. Being a child of two ministers, she traveled much of the northern USA. She married the love of her life, James C. Lister, on Lake Coeur d’Alene on May 29, 1971. Together they raised two boys, Terry and Tim, in Kingston, Idaho.

Peggy and Jim moved to Winnemucca, Nevada in 1986. Riding their ATVs and camping were their favorite pastimes until Jim’s passing in October of 2007. Peggy spent the next few years ATVing with friend Ron Johnson. In 2015 her Alzheimer’s progressed to the point that assisted living was required.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Amel and Elise, her husband Jim, and brothers Ken and Jon. She is survived by her sons Terry (Kelly) Lister of Spring Creek, Nevada, Tim (Tina) Lister of Meridian, Idaho, her sister Carolyn MacPhee of Elk Creek, Idaho, her grandchildren Katie, James, Jacob, Mikayla, and Syrah, along with in-laws John and Beth Gravley of Elk Creek, Idaho, Ward and Connie Lister of Wallace, Idaho, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Memorial Day weekend 2018 in Midas, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made an Alzheimer’s research foundation of the donor’s choice.
