KPD Roll Call Dec.12-19

•Attended Wardner City Council meeting. Extra patrols requested for parking violations as this is the time that parking on Main St. is not allowed.

•Follow up on cases,

•Assist Yakima PD for a current investigation of theirs- cleared other agency assist.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•100 block of west Mission for a public assist.

•Traffic stop in the McDonalds parking lot- clear verbal.

•Reports.

•Stolen firearm has been entered NCIC.

•Citizen contact on the 49 on ramp westbound. Subject was standing in the middle of the on-ramp playing the harmonica, he was told to please play it elsewhere.

•Motorist assist on galena ridge — everything was code 4.

•Traffic stop 100 block of Railroad- verbal warning for expired registration. Cite and release for DWP (out of state) and possession of marijuana under 3oz. Vehicle released to licensed driver.

•Possible trespassing/unlawful entry 600 block of Bunker — Fairbridge Inn. Several rooms with open doors and misc clothing lying around. Unknown if persons are inside rooms, called LE before checking. Checked all rooms and were unable to find anyone. They will be speaking with maintenance to check on the doors closing.

•Assist county in Smelterville with searching for wanted subject (wanted subject known to be violent having recently fought with police). Unable to locate.

•Assist county with burglary in progress where suspect had previously been held at gunpoint prior to fleeing. Assisted with searching area and abandoned buildings. This assist was requested just after crossing into Kellogg City Limits from looking for wanted subject.

•Possible domestic 200 block of E. Riverside. When contact was made with residence, yelling could be heard. Entry was made and shotgun pointed at police. Perimeter was setup and negotiations began. Contact made via phone and suspect came out willfully. Deputies assisting took control of residence and located victim bound by tape. Residence was searched and secured and medical personnel were allowed. Suspect taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree kidnapping and Aggravated Assault on Peace Officer. Great Job Guys!!

•Traffic stop on Bunker into KMS parking lot for non-working headlight. Cleared verbal.

•Assisted county with wanted person in Smelterville. Cleared UTL.

•Assisted county again for a suspect who fled scene of a burglary in process. Cleared UTL.

•Assisted many people as they were stuck all over town.

•Crash near Galena Ridge.

•Assist a mother with a snowball fight disagreement with her kid— cleared public assist.

•Mobile patrols in winter wonderland.

•Reports to include working on evidence.

•Vehicle slide-off 100 block of E. Portland. 30 foot UHaul got stuck awkwardly at an intersection. Tow came out and barely pulled in order to get the truck on its way. Tow was put back on top of rotation as they really weren’t needed. Public Assist (there was no collision involved in the slide-off).

•Domestic 100 block of W. Mission. Upon arrival, determined to be a family squabble with NO domestic elements, more of a trespassing issue. Two parties were trespassed from the residence and transported back to their own home in town. Peace restored.

•Disturb the peace/noise complaint at Silver Mountain Lodge. Assisted employees with quieting down persons staying at the resort, as well as assisting in getting back to their own rooms. Peace restored.

•Dispatched to verbal domestic in the 100 block of W Mission. Cleared parties separated.

•Dispatched to Silver Mountain for a disturbing the peace call. Upon arrival, parties were obnoxious and intoxicated, but parties ended up separating for the rest of the night. Cleared peace restored.

•Traffic stop on 600 block of W Cameron for obstructed license plate. Found marijuana in the vehicle. Driver was cited for possession of marijuana less than 3 oz. Cleared cite and released.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Reports.

•Citizen contact in the Silver Mountain parking lot, turned into stolen vehicle- cleared report taken.

•Called to the trail motel for an abandoned vehicle- tagged.

•Dispatched to Hill St. Conoco for vehicle parked in the middle of the parking lot. Driver was sleeping before driving back to Wisconsin. Cleared NAT.

•Traffic stop in S Division by Moose Creek grill for stop sign violation. Cleared verbal.

•Traffic stop on Hill St. by Conoco for no license plates. Cleared verbal.

•Verbal domestic in progress at 500 block 2nd St. Parties were separated. Cleared peace restored.

•Traffic stop on McKinley Ave. by the museum for reasonable and prudent driving. Cleared citation issued for no insurance.

•Assisted county with felony warrant. Cleared other agency assist.

•Dispatched to a fight in progress at one of the bars. Parties were separated and taken home. Cleared peace restored.

•Traffic stop on Railroad Ave. for headlight out. Cleared verbal.

•Assisted K72 with a traffic stop on Hill St. Cleared other agency assist.

•Assisted County in Smelterville for a felony warrant. An adult male was apprehended. Cleared other agency assist.

•Bar Fight at Eddie Joe’s. Cleared peace restored.

•Citizen contact at Shoshone Medical Center (SMC), provided ride home after cleared from hospital.

•Took dog into pound from county. Dog was abandoned in vehicle that slid off the road and owner was nowhere to be found.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Drove up on a slide off on Cameron Ave- report taken.

•Finished E-Impact from crash on 12/15.

•Called to the 100 block of E Portland for injury to property ended up being unfounded.

•Called back to the same place on E Portland for the woman wanting to press charges on her neighbor for using a one fingered wave at her. While not very neighborly, it’s not necessarily a crime.

•Warrant search at Amy Lynn’s— negative contact.

•Patrolled the slick and slushy streets of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Finished P.O.S.T. training.

•Unlawful entry on E Portland Ave.

•Report of an adult female walking around the sunny side of town looking into vehicles. Searched the area, unable to locate.

•Report of injury to vehicle.

•SKOL 11-3.

•Vehicle vs foot at the Cameron Conoco. Cleared ouch.

•Traffic stop on Teddy Ave., vehicle was reported stolen out of Osburn. When K73 asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, said driver argued that he had done nothing wrong and refused to get out. After assisting the driver from the stolen vehicle, K73 found out why he was so reluctant to come out of the vehicle— He was naked from the waist down. Not sure why and K73 didn’t ask. Cleared arrest and vehicle was returned to owner.

•Parking issue 200 block of Presley. Attempted contact with owner, kind of difficult as owner is currently incarcerated in Kootenai County. Contact will be attempted by persons knowing owner in order to see if vehicle can be moved prior to having it towed for snow (not there yet, but further snowfall will likely result in the vehicle being tagged and towed).

•Evidence work.

•Suspicious person call 400 block of Main in Wardner. 669 was on a traffic stop in the area at the time of call and stated he did not see anything (report of person between houses). K74 Checked area and could see animal tracks only. Hit the lights on the hillside and about 3 sets of eyes were glowing looking back. Turned out to be woodland creatures....not persons. Unfounded.

•Released dog from the pound.

•Called to 400 Block Main St., Wardner. Cleared public assist. Local deer or elk had been causing a ruckus in the neighbor’s yard and caused dogs to bark (K74’s brief is better).

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Citizen contact at Cameron Conoco. Cleared NAT.

•Welfare check at Silver Mountain. Cleared public assist.

•Called to the Broken Wheel for a theft call. A young couple thought it was ok to steal a gift certificate from the court house Christmas tree and then use it. Said gift certificate was not real. The real ones were behind lock and key. To top it off, they did not have any money to cover the bill. One piece of coal for you (and a misdemeanor citation for petit theft). Cleared citation issued.
