2017 The Bridge Giving Tree summary

| February 4, 2017 2:00 AM

This year was a great opportunity to again connect, encourage and help out some very special families with some 141 amazing children.

We have done this for three Christmas’ now and over this time we have helped dozens of generous & loving people make Christmas wonderful for 476 children.

It was so encouraging to have several of the people that have been helped in the past came in to help others this year.

We have designed this program so we are able to make it a relational building time.

We try to find out not only the needs for Christmas, but what the family needs long term.

We also have stayed, serving right up to Christmas Eve.

Many of the late requests are the ones that try desperately hard to not ask for help, but they find that they just can’t do it.

One such family with two children came in Christmas Eve and ee told them that we had faith that we would be able to help but that we couldn’t guarantee it.

About an hour later, a grandmother came in with her grandchildren said “We know it’s late but do you have anyone that we can help?”

The answer was of course yes!!! Turns out the kids were even the same age and gender.

Christmas miracles happen all the time.

We have a young mother with MS that we have been able to encourage for two years now.

The gifts are not just sitting on some shelf, they are bought and given with so much love and thought that it reaches this family in deeper ways than just the season.

We get to interact throughout the year.

Dave Smith Employees have helped out over this time with a large portion of them sponsoring kids.

This year Walmart employees joined them through the Paula Williams Memorial Fund.

They reached 32 plus kids.

Without them this would have fallen short.

As they faithfully checked in to make sure that every child that needed Christmas would get it.

Thank You Everyone What a team effort and what a caring place to live.
