Silver Valley has the biggest hearts in the universe! This year was a great year for the many donations given to help the children and families to meet the Christmas needs here.

We all saw what great things can happen when we pull together. Well this year was another one of those. We were able to feed over 648 children and their families with help from each and every one of you. Any money left over will go to the Meals on Wheels program for their Christmas Dinners.

The Dave Smith Memorial Fund was able to raise 18K to help those in needs on the KWAL Radio Thon. The fun all started off by Osburn Mayor Kip McGillivray coming to the radio and giving a challenge for $1,500 to construction companies and another challenge for $100 to all mayors. It then just took off from there with local engineers and outside engineers helping to raise the funds. Then all of the local business started calling in to make their challenges and soon we were able to meet the 5k and then our local car dealership Dave Smith Motors calling with a $5,000 pledge at the end of the day. Thank you all for making such a wonderful Christmas for the families in need. I would also like to thank you all who volunteer to put the toys and food vouchers up. Many of you give out to the families at such a busy time of the year. All of you rock for the many hours donated.

Congratulations to Dave Smith Motors for making No.1 in sales this year but you always will be No.1 in Shoshone County for continuous support of this program. We could not do the many food vouchers without your help.

Thank you Osburn for the town that believes and letting all of us take part in your new celebration of Christmas. Thank you KWAL for your continuous support of letting us do this on the radio and to Don who MC the radio days for our committee.

Also, thank you Shoshone County elected officials and employees for your time on this program.

Again, many thanks!

Peggy White,

Shoshone County Clerk
