Juvenile killed in I-90 wreck near Kingston

COEUR D’ALENE- Idaho State Police reports that a fatal crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 90 (I-90) near Kingston, Idaho.

At 1:57 p.m., 36- year old Heather K. Scott-Mason of Clatskanie, Oregon was driving a 2006 Nissan Murano eastbound near milepost 43 when she lost control, over corrected, and rolled the car.

The vehicle came to a rest on its right passenger side between I-90 and Silver Valley Road.

The vehicle was also occupied by two juveniles, one in the front passenger seat and one in the backseat.

EMS from Shoshone County Fire District #2 responded and pronounced the juvenile who was sitting in the backseat deceased at the scene.

The driver and front passenger were wearing seatbelt at the time of the crash, but it is unknown at this time if the deceased was wearing one.

The other two occupants were transported to Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg with minor injuries.

The roadway was blocked for approximately four hours and next of kin have been notified.
