Jack Edward Hurd, 73

Jack Edward Hurd, 73, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away July 2, 2017 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He was born November 3, 1943 in Kellogg, Idaho; Jack was the son of William and Margaret (Gates) Hurd.

Jack attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam war.

Jack married Vicki Altermott on June 16, 1973 in Wallace; Vicki passed away on April 29, 2007.

Jack has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. He had served as a miner at the Galena Mine for many years.

Jack was a member of the Wallace Elks Lodge #331 and a member of the Wallace Rotary Club.

Jack and Vicki loved to travel and Jack also loved to read.

Jack is survived by two sisters Elizabeth (James) Kirk of Nine Mile Falls, Washington, Kathy Irvine of Las Vegas, Nevada; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Vicki.

Upon Jack’s request, no services will be held. Inurnment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ Congregational, 408 Cedar Street, Wallace, Idaho 83873.
