Baby moose put down after attempted poaching

| July 14, 2017 7:52 PM

On Thursday night Shoshone County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a moose in distress in Pinehurst.

Upon arrival the deputies discovered a month and a half-old moose with a hunting arrow stuck in its head.

Due to the extensive injuries, and for humane reasons, the young moose was dispatched on the scene.

Idaho law dictates that anyone found guilty of poaching a moose could face up to $10,000 in fines and also be charged with animal cruelty. The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help.
