Beverly Jean Olson, 89

Beverly Jean Olson passed away on Monday July 10, 2017 in Pullman, Washington. She was 89 years old.

Beverly was born on October 22, 1927 in Crosby Minn. to George and Myrtle (Valiquet) Perkins. She was the third of seven children. She grew up in Minnesota where she met her future husband, Leonard Roy Olson. The couple were married in Milbank South Dakota on September 20, 1944 and shared 72 years of life together raising their two children before Leonard passed away on March 3, 2016.

After they married they moved to Bremerton Washington where she worked in the Naval Shipyard as a riveter’s helper and later worked in the administration office during World War II. After the war she and Leonard made their home in Osburn, Idaho. In 1949 she was appointed deputy clerk of the district court for Shoshone County and later became the acting auditor. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, puzzles, croquet, needle work and gardening. She was a member of St Alphonsus’s Catholic Church in Wallace, Idaho. In 1995 the couple moved to Lewiston, Idaho and enjoyed walks along the river, nickel slots at the casino, and wonderful neighbors Yum and Bobbie who were always there to help.

Beverly is survived by children Stephen R.(Patricia) Olson of Eagle, Idaho and Barbara J. (Kevin) Kimble of Troy, Idaho; granddaughters Alexandra Olson and Samantha Olson of Eagle, Idaho; siblings Shirley Corwin, of Osburn, ID, Jacquelyn Horton of Silverdale, WA, and Sandra Perkins of Bremerton, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, her parents, sisters LaReine Emery and Sharon Parolini, and brother Vernon Perkins.
