Riders vote Silver Mountain as the 2016 Top Bike Park in the Northwest.
KELLOGG- Silver Mountain Bike Park was voted as the #1 bike park in the Northwest in the fourth annual Best Bike Parks survey conducted by MTBparks.com.
MTBparks.com is a North American mountain bike website which operates as a guide and local knowledge source for riders seeking out bike parks across the continent.
Thousands participated in the survey, voting on the best bike parks of 2016, and Silver Mountain defended its title for the third year in a row.
MTBParks.com writes that “Silver Mountain’s short lift lines, long runs and variety of terrain make it a surreal riding destination that should be on your radar regardless of what corner of the country you call home”, and “There’s plenty of steep, raw, handbuilt tech here, but even advanced riders won’t want to skip the blue trails-they offer some of the most fun on the mountain regardless of your ability.”
This award comes as a result of constant expansion of the trail system and bike programs over the last four years.
Silver has been building trails for completely new mountain bikers as well as the most experienced downhill riders in the region, and adding new events, riding clinics, and amenities every season.
Once perceived as a destination for hardcore riders only, Silver has rapidly adjusted and expanded their offerings to cater to most any level of mountain biker.
With the addition of new giant rental bikes, mountain bike instructors, ladies days, a second full time bike mechanic, and continued construction of progression trails, Silver is upping the approachability of mountain biking.
One of their many goals is to be a great place for people to try out mountain biking and enjoy a new sport.
For those who already consider themselves as mountain bikers, Silver has been adding new trails, races, and features to suit everyone from casual trail bikers to jumpers and downhillers.
Low Life, a brand new trail, opened last year and allows riders to descend all 3,400 vertical feet without traveling down a road, creating an uninterrupted trail from the top of the gondola all the way down to town.
With 38 trails rated like ski runs, and with an awesome mix of options from “easiest” to “most difficult”, even the most advanced and experienced riders can find a variety of trails and features to have fun on and challenge themselves.
Silver is also once again hosting the North American Enduro Cup, a major national level enduro bike race.
Nearly one hundred percent of their bike park is now open, despite the snow left over from a strong winter.
After that, they will open for mostly extended weekends through June 23, when they kick off seven-day-a-week operations for the rest of the summer.
