KPD Roll Call 6/6-6/13

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•County assist to find a vehicle traveling down I-90 towing a trailer with no tail lights. U.T.L.

•Dispatched to a jeep sitting in the hospital parking lot with the lights on for a couple hours, woman was asleep in the jeep, she just wanted to get away from the house for a little bit due to personal issues. Everything was good.

•Dog running at large on Division Avenue, unable to locate the owner and dog (dog ran like he had a warrant when we exited the vehicle).

•Briefed with K73 about civil issues/ petit theft.

•Burglary report at 400 block of W Portland.

•Courtesy transport from Cameron Conoco to Elizabeth Park.

•Citizen contact on Cameron Ave.

•Combative subject at Shoshone Medical Center. Cleared peace restored.

•Welfare check at 611 McKinley Ave cleared unable to locate.

•Agency Assist burglary alarm on Gold Run Road. Cleared building secured.

•Got to visit with the friendly neighborhood walking man, always good to see him waving. Keep fighting the good fight Art.

•Vin inspection at the PD.

•Traffic stop on Cameron Ave. Cleared, verbal.

•Reports of a Blue corvette leaving its marks around town. The Chief went to make contact with driver of said corvette and he did not want to come out and play. Guess we will have to catch him later.

•Arrested an adult female for possession of Schedule I drug and possession of paraphernalia.

•Burglary reported at the Kellogg Vision Center. Upon arrival, I found the front door window to be smashed in. The cash drawer was laying outside in the parking lot with loose change still in it. The burglar got away with very little cash. There is surveillance footage of the burglar. It’s only a matter of time Mr. Burglar.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Parking complaint 100 block of W. Mission - Unfounded/Public assist (vehicles were legally parked)

•Citizen contact 100 block of W. Mission - issues with juvenile child being with parent while intoxicated and driving. Happened earlier in the day and parent has not returned (juvenile currently at residence and not with parent). Attempt to locate broadcast for possible DUI. Refer to other agency as all other issues happened in county.

•Traffic stop 900 block of S. Division Wardner. Citation for speed 34/25.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Thinking no more energy drinks for Boot while on Duty. Ever give your kids to much sugar on a 10 hour road trip? Boot is doing great and is a fast learner. Proud to have him part of KPD.

•Traffic stop Legion and Hill on a bicyclist- verbal warning for no light on bicycle (headlamp).

•Traffic stop 800 block of McKinley for Fail to Dim high beams. Passenger taken into custody for Kootenai County Warrant. Cite and release for possession of Marijuana Under 3oz.

•Citizen contact in the parking lot of Columbia Bank on W. Cameron- subject became tired while driving and went to a parking lot to sleep. Code 4.

•Landline request reference earlier contact on W. Mission (referred to Shoshone County). Had to do with male subject possibly drinking and driving (was last seen in Pinehurst).

•Reports and Evidence.

•Report of Reckless driver that hit something in the 400 block of W. Mullan. Unable to locate- spoke with RP that could not identify driver if vehicle could be located. Was able to see tire marks on Oregon in the dirt (spinning gravel) and a spot where they may have struck the curb. Unknown of any damage to potential vehicle (small blue pickup - unknown make/model).

•Report of Burglary at Cameron Conoco. White male and black male entered store. While one distracted clerk, the other reached over counter and took cigars/cigarettes. Both took off on foot (northbound?) on Division. County in the area to assist immediately and unable to locate. Follow up to continue.

•Called to an unwanted person on the 100 block of E Riverside. Custody civil issues. Cleared peace restored.

•Called to 400 block W Portland avenue, unwanted person, ended up being a civil matter. Peace restored.

•Traffic stop on hill street, sighted for Driving Without Privileges (DWP) and misdemeanor insurance.

•Served papers in Pinehurst.

•Called to 300 block of Cameron, suspicious activities reported, cleared public assist.

•County assist in Smelterville for attempted burg.

•Extra patrol of Mullan for reckless driver.

•Extra patrol for burglary.

•Called to a foul odor in Wardner. K77 located the foul odor by, (yes you guess it) using his nose. It was an elk carcass in a back yard. Come to find out the elk was recovered from an Elk Vs Car accident on the freeway and taken to the house. Resident of said house thought it was more important to go camping than to properly dispose of said Elk carcass. Idaho has this great Code that is made just for this kind of problem. It called Public Nuisance. “Anything which is injurious to health, or is indecent, or is offensive to the senses” The Menace was given a citation and instructed to remove the carcass.

•Presley avenue for locks being tampered with, didn’t want a report taken.

•100 block of Portland avenue welfare check, negative contact.

•Papers served in Smelterville.

•Call of a man breaking into a car and garage, turns out it was actually his car and garage, clear unfounded.

•Extra patrols of business and residential due to resent burglaries.

•Vehicle parked next to the no parking sign at Cameron and bunker, man sleeping in car, moved to Walmart.

•Public assist 400 block Main St Wardner, resolved the issue.

•Called to a motorist assist on S Division. K73 was able to get her car started for her in no time. The Fireman got the call first but they in the end they had to call the real heroes.
