KPD Roll Call 6-20 - 6-27

| June 27, 2017 6:20 PM

KPD

•Citizen contact regarding found phone, after an exhaustive search the owner was located.

•Citizen contact regarding a vin inspection, they didn't want to follow through with the vin inspection tonight.

•Called to an active door and motion alarm at the Sunny Side Drug. K74 and Boot responded and was on scene quickly. While checking the doors, Boot noticed the back-door open and he saw a person's head peak out. Mr. Burglar also noticed Boot standing near the door. Mr. Burglar went to shut the door and Boot ran to the door and the tug-a-war with the door was on. Boot did his best but Mr. Burglar was able to get the door shut and lock it. K74 then ran to the front of the store while Boot covered the back. Nowhere to go Mr. Burglar. While Mr. Burglar was trapped inside, a key holder for the building responded to scene. With said key, K73 and 1226 entered the building yelling in their big boy voices “POLICE come out with your hands up!” After few more big boy shouts, Mr. Burglar came out of the back-storage room with his hands up sobbing. Book-em Danno. Boot's first big arrest. Good Job BOOT!

•K72 Initiated a traffic stop at intersection of Hill Street and Cameron, subject pulled over at 100 block of Riverside then sped off which led to a small fail to yield- which ended up at Station Street with the vehicle totaled and the subject charged with Eluding, Reckless Driving, and Driving without Privileges and she ended up having a Bench warrant for $30,000. Let's check the differences between her running from the police and her not running from the police. Not running from the police- she would have been arrested for her warrant and cited for driving without privileges and her car towed but undamaged.
