Sixth Street Theater Performs Comedy About Hunting and Hunting Traditions

| March 1, 2017 2:00 AM

The Sixth Street Theater is preparing for this Friday's opening night of a hilarious comedy about hunting and hunting traditions.

Escanaba in da Moonlight, a comedy written by Jeff Daniels and directed by Casey Duncan, opens this Friday at 7 p.m.

When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family's Upper Peninsula camp in Michigan, thirty-five-year-old Reuben Soady, played by Casey Duncan, brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to bag a buck.

In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, Escanaba in da Moonlight spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuban goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.

Other cast members include Casey's actual brother Drago Duncan, as his brother on stage Remnar Soady.

The father of the Soady brothers, Albert, is played by Roger Bushong.

Ken Bartle plays the role of Jimmer Negamanee, Chuck Tatman is Ranger Tom T. Reado, and the only female cast member is Eva Corona, who portrays Wolf Moon Dance Soady.

Tickets are currently on sale, and can be purchased online by visiting www.sixthstreetmelodrama.com, or call the box office at 752-8871.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults, and $13 for students, seniors and military andĀ if 10 or more tickets are purchased online at the same time for one of the productions, a group rate will be given, taking forty percent off the total price of each patron's ticket.
