Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: Feb. 27 to March 6

- Unwanted person at the Broken Wheel. Spoke with said person and gave him a ride to Shoshone Medical Center (SMC) to he could get some help. Cleared public assist.

- Assisted K73 with unwanted subject at the Broken Wheel. Cleared nothing to report.

- Responded to a hit-and-run at Wells Fargo, driver hit light pole (destroying light pole). Driver was identified by plate number and bumper sticker by K73 at Walmart. Driver was cited for leaving the scene of property damage crash.

- On the way back from Walmart, I assisted county with a semi vs truck. I arrived to determine if it was an injury crash and once deputies arrived I cleared.

- I blame Bob for the snow and you can too if you want.

- Got the rigs cleared off and moved for snow removal.

- Issued a parking citation underneath the overpass at 51 for parking where signs prohibit.

- Citizen contact at the Hill Street Conoco. Individual wanted to know if we could arrest her neighbor for something. I asked what that something was and she related that her neighbor’s husband doesn’t like her going to counseling with her and that he also drives drunk all the time. I informed her that the first issue is between the two of them and if she sees anyone she believes to be intoxicated operating a vehicle to give us a call. Cleared, public assist.

- Attempted warrant service on McKinley Avenue.

- Complaint of a neighbor putting objects in the road to block parking. No objects seen in the road (10 block of E Portland).

- Put a pit mix in puppy jail. Found on Elder.

- Sent up gear list for upcoming patrol meeting.

- Assisted 1221 with a warrant arrest at Cameron Conoco. He was conducting follow up on investigation from county when he spotted suspect vehicle at Cameron Conoco. Requested assistance, and discovered one of the ladies had a felony warrant out of Washington.

- Burglary, S. Division street, follow up to continue.

- More gear talks with K71.

- Welfare check, 300 block of E. Idaho, individuals not home but at KBH for an appointment. Cleared, they’re code 4.

- Two VIN inspections on Vergobbi.

- Speaker reset in the office.

- Traffic stop on Railroad for speeding on Bunker, cleared verbal.

- Citizen contact for three individuals playing Pokémon GO. (New update with all new Pokémon, well that’s what I have been told LOL)

- Citizen contact at Market and Main, person in vehicle using WiFi from the Library.

- Citizen contact with an adult male on McKinley and Galena. Just out for a walk.

- Took report of a possible theft at McDonald’s. More to follow up with tomorrow.

- Welfare check on McKinley Avenue.

- Call to Yokes for a lady who was shopping. Now that part is not odd, what was odd and why we were called is that she was inside shopping for more than five hours and had filled her cart up twice and then emptied it to only fill it up again. I did a welfare check on her. She told me that she was just shopping and that she does not get out of the house much. While odd, not illegal. I cleared scratching my head.

- Assisted Bob and k74 with a domestic call on the 100 block of Riverside.

- Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

- Call to Amy Lynn apartments for a civil dispute, Purse was left in an apartment, purse was then given to RP’s brother. Cleared civil.

- Domestic in progress in 100 block of Riverside. Unable to locate the male half. No physical altercation. Information report taken.

- Conducted bar checks “at all open bars.”

- Call about suspicious person sitting in his car in front of the Library, supposed odor of marijuana coming from the car, Cleared, unfounded.

- 911 hang up at Silver Mountain resort, only location given was building A. Dispatch put number in and referred to front desk. Walked hallways, didn’t hear anything. Front desk contacted rooms, they did not call.

- Checked on vehicle at McDonald’s, ended up being an employee.

- Checked on a vehicle in the parking lot of Eddie Joe’s. Appears to have been there for quite some time with a broken window. Did not appear to have been done recently (snow and snow berm) and no track appearing since the snowing (any of it).

- Issued a parking citation underneath the overpass on S. Division for parking where signs prohibit.

- Traffic stop on Division for failure to yield. Cleared verbal warning.

- Finished burglary report from Emerald division.

- Assisted 662 with Health and Welfare. Cleared other agency assist.

- Bob broke his body cam. Hmmm Bob is giving K77 a run for his money on breaking stuff.

- Call to Amy Lynn apartments to take report on a broken window. Had RP fill out statement, report taken.

- Call for a fight at Noah’s, ended up not being a fight after all, cleared unfounded.

- Call to 100 block of Silver. Male beating on the front door of resident’s house. took him in for detox. Report taken (This was the first time Bob handcuffed someone and he is not ready for the speed cuffing competition yet, but a job well done).

- Several 911 calls for Silver Mountain again tonight. Dispatch was able to get in contact with the front desk and they are not sure what is going on as there are no issues and it is only giving buildings as the location (nothing specific such as rooms). Silver Mountain will be contacting their maintenance to see if there is an issue with their phone lines.

- Call to back up 486 for a vehicle search at Hill and Bunker, clear other agency assist.

- Reports

- Patrolled streets and alleyways of Kellogg and Wardner.

- Traffic stop in 3000 block of McKinley for speed; cleared verbal.

- More patrol of streets of Kellogg and Wardner.

- Seems like the only people enjoying todays weather is the people going up on Silver Mountain. I didn’t even see or hear about the moose wandering around.

- Contacted individual about the way they were parked on Presley. Vehicle was parked out in the street. Individual moved car.

- Contacted another individual on Presley about the registration on his car advised if he’s gonna park his car on the street then to update the registration.

- Traffic stop on the on-ramp to westbound I-90 from Hill Street, wrote citation for no proof of insurance.

- Traffic stop on Cameron in parking lot of Subway, obstructed view (too many people in single cab vehicle) verbal warning.

- Moose on the loose at Silver Mountain shooed him away for the time being (verbal for loitering).

- Traffic stop at Trail Motel for expired registration, Verbal warning.

- Attempt to locate possible DUI, eastbound I-90 from milepost 40. County units setup on I-90, I checked gas stations and businesses for vehicle - Unable to locate.

- Barking dog at 100 block W. Mullan, K77 handled.

- Responded to a man urinating at the Sunshine. I advised him that he was finished drinking for the evening. I advised the bartender the same thing. Cleared 4.

- Took a K9 into custody last night on W. Mullan for disturbing the peace. It was a legit complaint. The dog was very loud and it was 1:30 a.m. Keeping the neighbors up. Owners were not home and left the dog outside. For everyone’s peace and sanity I made the decision to impound the pup.

- County assist for CPO violation in Smelterville. Individual was gone upon my arrival. I cleared and county will follow up.

- Assisted medical early this morning at the Trail Motel for the driver who was involved in the rollover crash. He woke up and his neck and back was so stiff he could hardly move and decided he needed to have some X-rays done.

- Dog at large that started at the intersection of Main and S. Division in Kellogg. Ended up finding the owner of the dog on the 100 block Silver Avenue. Dog owner was VERY verbal and anti police. Said owner of the dog would not come out and speak with me but was very outspoken standing in his doorway as I would walk away.

- Motorist assist at the top of Main Street in Wardner. Pickup with camper trailer was attempting to turn around and got stuck in a snow berm. Ran traffic control until they were able to get the rig back on the road.

- Dropped off some gun locks for single father who lost keys to his old gun locks, KPD was happy to replace the locks.

- Patrolled the streets of Kellogg and Wardner.

- So, I hear the News-Press is doing a Selfie Saturday. I bet the firemen would be great at this because they are always taking photos of themselves. But with that said, I bet KPD can take better selfies than District 2 Fire.
