The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office reports that Search and Recuse teams have been actively searching the Lost Creek area, approximately 28 miles up Coeur d’Alene River Rd. near Prichard/ Murray, for 39- year old Jay Deming of Kootenai County.

Deming was reported missing Monday at 6 p.m. after last being seen around noon the same day.

It is reported that he was walking his dog in the area and never returned.

Shoshone County Sheriff Mike Gunderson is coordinating the search effort from a base camp set up on Coeur d’Alene River Rd. near the area of Lost Creek and Shoshone Base Camp.

The search effort is comprised of members from Shoshone County Search and Rescue (SCSR), Kootenai County Search and Rescue (KCSR), Kootenai County Backcountry unit, and Two-Bear air out of Montana.

KCSR is also using their Search and Rescue K9s to assist with the situation.
