Duane Edwin Hammeren, 69

Duane Edwin Hammeren, 69, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away March 6, 2017 at his home in Smelterville. He was born August 22, 1947 in Newport, Washington; Duane was the son of John and Minnie (Evenson) Hammeren.

Duane grew up in Priest River. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and has lived in the Silver Valley since 1999. He worked as a Logger most of his career.

Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and being with family and friends.

Duane is survived by his sons Dennis Hammeren and Duane Hammeren Jr.; his sister Marie (Deano) Stein; his grandsons Dalton and Sammy Hammeren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Gordon, Clifford, Orin, and Ed Hammeren, Joan Hiebert, and two infant siblings Oscar and Paul.

Cremation will take place and a service will be held at a later date to be announced.
