FIREHOUSE WEEKLY 04/26-05/05

Shoshone County Fire District # 2 conducted live fire training on Saturday April 29. The smoke could be seen throughout the Pinehurst area. The training provided essential training to members of the department. Training evolutions included water tender operations, drafting water from portable water tank, search & rescue, ventilation, and fire suppression.

-10:44 Fire and EMS crews responded to Smelterville for a male patient who was vomiting and feeling dizzy. The patient was treated and transported to SMC for treatment.

-17:36 Fire and EMS crews responded to Pinehurst for a female patient with extreme hip pain. Crews assessed the patient, treated, and transported to SMC for further evaluation and treatment.

-20:03 Fire and EMS crews responded to Pine Creek for a female patient who had fallen. Assessed the patient for any possible injuries then assisted her into bed.

-08:00 Fire and EMS crews responded to Main St in Smelterville for a vehicle that had crashed into a building. One patient was treated and transported to SMC for further evaluation.

-01:21 EMS crews responded to the Good Samaritan House for a patient vomiting blood with abdominal pain. Patient was treated on scene and transfer to SMC for further treatment and testing.

-15:23 Fire crews responded to a report of a fire alarm at the Forest Service building in Smelterville. Found that dust from a carpenter working on a remodel project had activated the smoke detectors. Advised the occupants the detector heads need to be cleaned prior to the alarm system being reset.

-17:54 Fire crews responded to the Osburn area for a report of a kitchen fire. Crews arrived to find light smoke showing with all occupants out of the house and fire reported out. Crews assisted with ventilation of smoke from house and crew left scene. Thankfully homeowner had a fire extinguisher and was able to put the fire out. 20:40 Fire and EMS crews responded to downtown Kellogg for male who had fell and hit his head on the counter. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to SMC for further treatment of his injuries.

-11:09 EMS dispatched to stage in Silverton for Law Enforcement, domestic in progress. Medical was canceled per Law Enforcement on scene. Crews cleared and returned to quarters.

11:54 EMS crews responded for a Patient that had fallen. Patient was assessed, treated, and transported to Shoshone Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

-13:34 EMS crews responded to Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Silverton for male patient experiencing chest pain. While obtaining EKG and patient history, patient only reported one known allergy of women. Patient also stated he felt weird, when asked to explain he said it was like he had to many tequila….No Tequila is being served at facility per patient.

-19:17 EMS crews responded to the area of Shoshone Blvd in Sunny Slopes for patient with difficulty breathing and low on oxygen. Patient was treated and transported to SMC by ambulance.

-19:32 Medical crews responded to Cameron Ave. in Kellogg for an elderly patient who had fallen. Transported patient to SMC for further treatment.

-02:57 Report of a fire alarm going off at the forest service in Smelterville Found the situation was a continuation from Friday. The area was checked and the alarm reset

-06:08 EMS paged to Burke area for a patient needing lift assist. Upon arrival it was found that patient had once again lost a battle with gravity and needed help off the floor. Lifted patient up to his chair and went back to the station and cooked breakfast.

-07:37 EMS crew responded to Burke area for a patient needing a lift assist to get off the floor. Patient refused transport to the hospital after being lifted to his chair and was left in care of family.

-12:15 Fire and EMS responded to a residence in Smelterville for a reported male needing transport to SMC. Patient was assessed and treated at the scene and then transported to SMC for further care.

-15:23 Fire crews responded to the Division Street area in Kellogg for a barbecue grill fire. The fire did not spread to the adjacent structure. The fire was extinguished using a dry chemical extinguisher. No persons or animals were injured. A neighbor discovered the burning barbecue and moved it a safe distance from a dog kennel and the house that it was near.

-21:45 Fire and EMS responded to the first hundred block of Elder for a medical assessment of a patient requested by Kellogg Police Department. The patient refused transportation to the hospital. The patient’s care was transferred to law enforcement officers.

-12:37 EMS crews responded to Osburn for a patient having diabetic problems. Upon arrival crews found out patient was actually having abdominal pain. Crews treated and transported patient to SMC for further evaluation.

-15:16 EMS crews responded to Burke Rd for a patient who had fallen. Patient was treated and transported to SMC for further evaluation.

-16:20 EMS crews responded to Wallace for a patient who was bleeding profusely from their lower leg. Patient was treated and bleeding controlled. Patient refused transport.

-17:57 EMS crews responded to the Wallace area for a Sheriff’s deputy with a laceration to his hand, Deputy was treated. Thanks to the deputy for chasing down the criminal and glad no one was injured.
