•11:24 Fire and EMS crews responded to E. Canyon Rd in Cataldo for a possible explosive device. Arrived on scene and discovered fireworks in mailbox. Needless to say excitement went out with a bang.
•13:12 Fire and EMS respond to Commerce Drive Smelterville for a female with possible diabetic problem. Patient is treated and transported to SMC.

•07:51 Fire responded to an address on Woodland Drive for a vehicle that had been started and locked with a dog inside. A little magic was then performed and the door popped open without damage to the vehicle.
•18:00 EMS crews responded to wallace for a patient who was bleeding profusely from their leg. Patient ended up bumping up against a nail. Patient was treated and transported to SMC for further evaluation.

•06:41 EMS crew responded to the Wallace area for a laceration to patient’s head. Patient vs. chair as patient had a one inch cut on the top of his head. Patient was alert and oriented and treated on scene.
•12:35 Fire crews responded to Mullan Ave. for unknown chemicals found in a small shop. Advised the responsible person that the chemicals would have to be properly disposed of. Owner agreed and all was well!
•13:31 Fire and EMS crews responded to a head on collision on I-90 exit 34. One patient was extricated with multiple injuries and taken to Kootenai Health for treatment and the other walked away with minor injuries.
•20:25 Fire personnel responded to a complaint of a brush pile burning out of control up French Gulch. Due to the rain and generally wet conditions, the fire was not a hazard.

•04:33 Fire and EMS responded to Kingston for a Male patient with altered mental status. Patient was taken to SMC for treatment.
•12:22 EMS crews responded to 20 Bank in Wallace for patient with traumatic injury to right foot with active bleeding. Wound was bandaged and patient was transported to SMC by ambulance.
•16:24 Fire and EMS responded to Division St in Pinehurst for a law enforcement requested medical check. The patient was assessed and released.
•16:46 Fire crews responded to Silver Mountain Building C for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire or smoke found, alarm system was reset and all units cleared.

12:57 Fire & EMS crews responded to an 86 year old male who was knocked over by a dog. The patient stated that he was coming home from the store when the dog ran up to him and knocked him down.
•19:51 EMS crew responded to Residence Street in Wallace for a patient who had fallen and needed assistance. Patient was treated and transported to SMC.

•13:54 EMS crew responded to the 700 block of Bank Street in Wallace for a patient who was bitten by an insect and had an allergic reaction. Crew treated and transported to SMC.
•14:06 Fire personnel responded to I90 E mile post 60 for a vehicle vs. semi MVC. All occupants had self extricated upon arrival. All were treated and two were transported to SMC for minor injuries. The semi was hauling 2187 liquefied carbon dioxide tractor. The other vehicle, a toyota tundra, was underneath the tanker and had major damage to front end. Tundra was leaking coolant, and fire personnel mitigated by using absorbent towels. All threats were mitigated and scene was turned over to law enforcement.
•21:19 EMS crews responded to W Cameron Ave for two minor patients and a dog who were on the receiving end of a pepper spray discharge. The patient’s guardians requested the patients not be transported.

•13:24 EMS crews responded to Osburn for a patient with injury to arm. Crews arrived to find patient lying on ground in pain. Patient had obvious shoulder injury and was transported to SMC for treatment. We hope you recovery quickly.
•17:17 EMS crews dispatched for a male with high blood pressure in the Osburn area. Patient was working in his garage and became light-headed and slightly dizzy. Patient checked his blood pressure with home machine and had high readings. Patient began feeling better as crews arrived and patient’s wife talked husband into letting her drive him to the hospital.

•00:20 EMS crews responded to the Wallace area for a patient with breathing problem. Patient was not feeling well and assessed by crews and transported to SMC for further treatment.

Responders from both districts completed their EMT and Advanced EMT course and testing last week. A big congrats to the men and women who completed the course and by making our county a safer place to live!
