Phase II of the City of Kellogg’s Sewer Rehabilitation and Replacement Project is well underway for the 2017 construction season. With the new Shoshone News Press schedule it’s difficult to be specific about where crews are working. By the time the article is published, they have moved on. The project continues to work its way east from the west end of the Sunnyside Edition. Work is also occurring on Brown Street. Plans are being made to move onto Cameron Avenue in the near future. Prior to work starting through the Business District, contact will be made with business owners so they can prepare for the disruption. For more information on the project, please go to the City’s Face Book page.

Because water lines are being replaced as part of the project, residents should expect unannounced short term water outages. Every effort will be made to notify patrons whenever possible. This is a large and complex project. As such we are asking for people’s patience as things proceed. Be careful as you travel through construction zones, equipment operators may not be able to see you if you are in a blind spot. Children and pets should not frequent work areas.

Anyone needing special assistance related to the project or who may have questions or concerns is asked to contact Mr. Craig Lewis, Superintendent of Public Works at (208) 786-9131. On weekends, holidays or after work hours you may contact Mr. Lewis by calling the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Dispatch at (208) 556-1114 and request they contact him for you.
