Evelyn Fisher Ferguson, 91
A celebration of life will be held for Evelyn Fisher Ferguson at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the family’s property at MP 40.5 on the Coeur d’Alene River Road near Pritchard, Idaho, with food and refreshments to follow.
Evelyn passed away on Mother’s Day May 14, 2017, at Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House in Hayden, Idaho. She was born on Aug. 27, 1925, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to parents Ruby Ross Fisher and Lenoir John Fisher. Her early years were spent between Grand Forks, British Columbia, and Kellogg, Idaho. She attended schools in Kellogg, after which she graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in music and education.
Evelyn Fisher married Don Ferguson on Nov. 22, 1957, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Upon graduation from the University of Idaho, she taught school in Elk Creek, Idaho, for nearly 10 years before moving to Nevada and then the Philippines, ultimately returning to the Silver Valley in 1970. In the ’80s and ’90s, she owned and operated Silver Valley Travel in Wallace, Idaho.
She enjoyed time spent with friends and family, card games, travel, entertaining and baking. Evelyn belonged to PEO, Beta Sigma Phi, Shoshone County Republican Women, and various other groups and organizations. She also enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to the Lady Elks Bridge, Ladies Two Table Bridge, Bridge on the North Fork and the PEO Bridge Marathon Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Lenore Fisher; her brother, Lee Fisher and her husband of 45 years, Don Ferguson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Lynette Ferguson of Cataldo, Idaho; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
