| May 30, 2017 5:44 PM

Danny J. Brownson was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Vanport, Ore. He was the youngest of five boys, from Bill and Flossie Brownson. Danny, and his family lived in several towns growing up, and graduated from Lewiston, Idaho, in 1964.

Shortly after graduating high school, Danny enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 4, 1964. Danny was a proud American, and had the honor of serving his country in the Vietnam War. After his enlistment was over, and on his way home, Danny met the love of his life, Kathy Kolby. Talk about his lucky day, Danny found out later that Kathy was on the wrong train when they met. They fell in love, and soon married on Oct. 28, 1968.

Danny and Kathy were soon blessed with three beautiful children, Ambie, Tina and Danny Jr. Danny and his family lived in Kellogg, Idaho, until 1979, where Danny worked for Bunker Hill. In 1979, the family moved to the Tri-Cities, where Danny worked for the Hanford Plant until 1983. After moving back to Kellogg in 1983, Danny worked for the Laborers Union Local 238 of Spokane, Wash. He worked there until his retirement in 2000.

Danny was very patriotic, loved his country and the freedoms we have. Danny was the kind of person who would help anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved playing cards, shooting darts and mostly telling jokes! Danny’s most important part of his life was his family. He was so proud and supportive of the beautiful people that they have become. He will always be remembered for his kindness and great storytelling.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Flossie Brownson; and his brothers, Jackie Brownson and Bobby Brownson. Danny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy; his daughters, Ambie Brownson and husband David Heuett, and Tina Brownson-Giovanelli and husband Doug Giovanelli; son Danny Brownson Jr. and wife Michelle; grandchildren Roxanne, Sierra, Piper, Olivia and Jack; and great-grandchildren Juliet, Victoria and Jacob.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the VFW in Osburn, Idaho.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Bradley Drury, of Family Health Associates, for his exemplary compassion and care for Danny. Donations can be made to Newby-Ginnings of North Idaho, 570 Clearwater Loop, Post Falls, ID 83854, who serve to honor veterans.
